With all the various hair regimes, new products and different testimonies flying around, you'd wonder what is truly best for you. But in reality, no one hair regime or product is right for everyone! In order to find out the best products and routines for ourselves, we need to be willing to take some time, and invest more into finding what's right for ourselves. Start simple! For example, try using Coconut oil once, twice or three times a week for at least 2-4 weeks. If you feel your hair isn't loving Coconut oil so much, try switching to Jojoba, Almond, or any other oil! Here are some of M.E.'s suggestions for different and common hair issues!
1. Low Porosity
If you feel your hair is too dry, or not moisturized enough, you need to up that hydration! Try spritzing your hair with water every day 1-2 times a day, then add any moisturizing oil of your choice! If you really wanna get that moisture in, try soaking your hair with water each time you shower, and re-apply that moisturizing oil. M.E. recommends lots of H2O mixed with M.E.'s Argan Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, or Jojoba Oil. You can spritz on the go or apply the oil to your scalp, roots, and ends at least 2-3 times a week.
2. Dandruff/Itchy Scalp
Again, this area has to do with hydration and moisture, and/or could have a direct relation to skin issues such as eczema, psoriasis, or more. In fact, I actually helped treat my own psoriasis, simply by giving my hair some good old H2O every day, as well as applying my favorite oil mixture Ultimate.ME Hair Growth Souffle. I apply this mixture to my scalp every two days, and for almost 6 months now I haven't had a single issue with dry patches and/or itchy scalp. My scalp has cleared up and feels fresh and clean! I would definitely recommend the Ultimate.ME Hair Growth Souffle, the Revive.ME Anti-dandruff Souffle, or a hot oil treatment of your choice. Oils we recommend include Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint Oil, Argan Oil, Ylang Ylang oil, Jojoba Oil, Lemongrass oil, Sweet Almond oil, and Rosemary Oil.
3. Damaged Edges and Ends of Hair
This is a particular issue, here we are focusing on reviving damaged parts of the hair. Starting with damaged edges, the best place to start is by decreasing the amount of tugging and pulling on the edges. This means decreasing tight braids and ponytails that pull on your edges (possibly try start slightly back and use edge control). Instead, try wearing your hair out, down, and around! Or try wearing wigs to ease up on the tension and pulling. For damaged ends, we recommend trimming down the damaged area, as it can affect the new hair growth. Also, lay off the heat, coloring, and chemicals as well! Make sure to apply lots of water, moisturizer/oil since it is the oldest part of the hair as well. In order to grow back your edges and revive your hair, continue to nourish the roots and ends with water and oils best known for hair growth: Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera Oil, and Peppermint Oil!
4. Hair loss and Hair fall
Hair loss and Hair fall can also be a bit tricky because it can be due to many factors. Your hair loss/fall could be due to genetics, stress, diet, harmful products, and other related issues. For this reason, we can't stress enough how important it is to take care of our physical and mental health, because how we feel on the inside will ultimately reflect on the outside with things such as sudden acne, hair fall, and more. We recommend to stay relaxed, eat lots of fruits and veggies, drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep, meet your friends and do your best to manage your daily activities and save time for me time! If you want a little extra boost to help you out while you're on the go, choose M.E.'s Castor Oil with a mix of Peppermint, Lavender, and/or Rosemary Oil.
5. Soft n' Shiny Hair
Are you looking to make those curls bright and bouncy, or those locks glow in the night, flowing in the wind? Definitely look to M.E.'S 100% Pure Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, or Unrefined Coconut Oil! These oils do wonders as they not only add shine and luster but they are also very moisturizing and nourishing the hair, making the hair healthier and full of life!
Moral of the blog, there are many ways to achieve the results you're looking for. The important thing is to keep the hair hydrated and moisturized. Once you have these down packed, try testing various items to see which one works best for you. So relax, sit back and let M.E. do the rest.
